All the books in the Library - limited edition

from A$36.00

Watching my mother and eldest sister become completely absorbed into their books I begged my mother to teach me to read. At six, I read Alice in Wonderland, my first “big book” and have never stopped loving text, stories and now even poetry. In Primary School it was my aim to read every fiction book in the library. I wanted to be the one who had “read all the books in the library”. This painting is for all those book worms out there who understand that to curl up undisturbed in a shaft of sunlight with a book, touching yellowed paper and removing the fine layer of dust from the spine is a truly sacred moment.

In this painting a high school student is in full retreat from lunch time noise and other people. She is so thirsty for books she has piled them up in front of her and even sequestered a cup of tea on the shelf. Almost every book in this painting is named according to stories I have read and loved. The front pile of books has Heidi and Walden, the books I was reading while painting this picture. These days I am working through all the stories, poetry and prophesies in the Bible.

This is a limited edition print made onto rich heavy and textured cotton rag paper (limited to 100)

Large measures 13" x 19" (A3Plus) and Small measures 8.27" x 11.29" (A4). Each print is made from a high resolution image of the original painting and the image is as large as will fit comfortably with a border for framing.

We provide free postage within Australia and New Zealand. We always endeavor to use 100% post consumer waste recycled paper, vegetable cellophane and cardboard in our packaging.
